Mike’s research interests have included: non-thermal emission processes in active galactic nuclei, ultraviolet studies of the Red Rectangle nebula, the formation and evolution of protostellar disks, solar system formation, comets, and interplanetary dust particles. Current projects include: infrared spectroscopic observations of young stars with disks of gas and dust as part of a joint effort with X-ray observations using the Chandra X-Ray Observatory and coronagraphic imaging with the Hubble Space Telescope.
