Jaime is a physicist by training, with an emphasis in computational space plasma physics. He began at SSI as a researcher studying particle motion in Earth's magnetotail. He is now the Director of Information System and Technology, in addition to being the P.I. or project lead for several education technology projects. He's been involved to varying degrees in many of the EPO programs at SSI, including MarsQuest, Space Weather Outreach, Alien Earths, Giant Worlds, and the NASA SMD Broker. His current interests include the potential role of gaming in education, and the challenges relating to transfer. Not surprisingly, he thinks physics based game engines are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

His undergraduate degree is from Occidental College and his physics PhD is from the University of Maryland.
