Frank's scientific research focuses primarily on the atmospheres of Venus and the Earth. He uses numerical models to simulate and interpret observations of the atmospheric chemistry and composition on both planets. He also uses ground-based and satellite-based observations and radiative transfer models to investigate the properties of aerosols in Earth's atmosphere and their effects on surface ultraviolet radiation.
