Dr. Dawn Peterson joined SSI in April 2012 as a Research Scientist, and is an offsite researcher working out of Boston, MA. She earned her PhD in Astronomy and Physics from the University of Rochester in 2005. She then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Virginia and the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Her research interests lie in the general area of low-mass star (and brown dwarf) formation, which she studies through the use of infrared and visible wavelength observations. She has been a member of several large Spitzer Space Telescope teams, including the Gould Belt (GB) Legacy Survey team.
