Dr. Jun Yang is an Affiliate Research Scientist at the Space Science Institute. Working across observation, theory, and computation, she combines multi-wavelength observations, physical modeling, statistical inference, and machine learning to uncover weak and rare signals in complex data, from X-ray pulsars and X-ray binaries in nearby galaxies and the interstellar medium toward the Galactic Bulge, to anomalous transients in Rubin Observatory data and historical photographic plates. She has led observing programs as Principal Investigator with NASA's Chandra and NuSTAR and ESA's XMM-Newton observatories, and has chaired a NASA Astrophysics Data Analysis Program (ADAP) review panel.
